At approximately 0930 hours Fire Alarm Central reseved a 911 call for a possible bedroom fire at the Grove St apts. The call was dispatched and with in minutes P.D. arrived on scene and reported that they had smoke showing at the location. Chief 82 (Clark) arrived on scene shortly after to notice smoke showing and fire in the 2nd floor bedroom. 82 asked for the working fire to be dispatched. Truck One and Hose One were the first due units to arrive on scene. The Members From Hempstead made a quick knock down. Units were on scene for about 90 minutes. Mutual Aid was called from West and South Hempstead and Uniondale Fire Departments.
Chief 80 (Rugg) Had the Command.

The Hempstead Fire Department was called to assist The Roosevelt Fire Dept on June 8th 2010. Truck One Responded along with members of the Hempstead Fire Department. Chief 80 (Rugg) Arrived on scene an advised Truck One that they had a 2 1/2 sty pd with heavy fire showing and that the crew was going to work. The Officers and crew from Hempstead worked on scene for about 3 hours to bring the blaze under control.
It was deemed that the homeowner set the blaze.
